What to Expect
Expect to have fun! Even if you have no experience in front of a camera, know that I will direct your every step. From helping you prepare for your session to beautiful posing, the best part of my job is watching people light up with confidence when they realize they feel comfortable and beautiful.
As noted on my Experience page, you can expect your images to be digital, full resolution and delivered to you via an online gallery with a password and download pin.
I have a contract that lines out the important legal information and terms of service.
My Process
I shoot with a Cannon 5D Mark IV. I often shoot with my favorite prime lens 50mm 1.2 and 24-70mm. After the shoot I edit the pictures in Adobe, usually using Lightroom. I curate all photos for editing potential and then begin the editing process. I will not give you raw files. Depending on the circumstances of our session, editing can be a quite a process, but don't worry, I know what it's like to have to wait for a good thing and do my best for quality turn-around.
How You Will Recieve Your Pictures
Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery. I will give you a code that will give you access to download your pictures in high resolution.
What to Wear to a Shoot
I will reach out to you before our session and give you any information you may need. For your general information: blues and neutrals will always look good. I do not usually suggest a printed outfit as it can distract the eye.
What You Should Bring
Honestly all we really need is you! But if you would like to bring something special, objects of importance to you are always welcome. I only ask that you let me know in advance and for an open mind as we get creative!
Girls, it is a good idea to bring bobby pins, hair ties or spray just in case the wind picks up and you need them. If you are worried about makeup you can bring some extra in case something happens.
Child or Pet Cooperation
I firmly believe in sweet, little life moments. I have experience in this area and am content to go as fast or slow as we need to to meet the need at hand. Recognizing we sometimes will have a short window of attention span for classic portraits with children, I am quick to get those shots as well as incorporate movement to focus on having fun with them.
Children Notes:
For children, please make sure they are well fed and rested beforehand. We want them happy and comfortable!
Please bring them spare clothes. Just in case ;)
If your kiddo acts out, "calm breath" is the mantra of the hour. Rest assured as a former preschool teacher and foster sister I can handle whatever your child may dole out, they won't shock me. We'll get them smiling and having fun in no time.
Pet Notes:
Please ensure your pet is groomed to your satisfaction, clear of eye goop. I'd make sure their collar, leash, bridal/halter/saddle -whatever your pets' gear may be - is in clean, satisfactory condition to you.
Shooting Locations
If you are unsure where you would like your pictures taken I have many beautiful options I'm happy to suggest.
What if it Rains?
Our lovely Oregon weather is well known for it's rain clouds. We'll keep an eye on the forecast and if the weather looks wet there is the possibility we will have to re-schedule. However, we are not afraid of "dreary" clouds. Honestly, overcast days make for some of the best, filtered lighting and contrast. Bring on the umbrellas and rain boots!
